The Star Troupe's "1789" has opened in Tokyo. Now that each troupe has had its turn, I've taken my own opinionated look back at the first half of the year.

This year, and not just this year, Takarazuka has seen a sharp decline in Takarazuka originals. Currently, the works being performed are "The Mandarin Duck Song Battle," "1789," and "Excalibur." Not all of them are Takarazuka originals.

Next year's lineup was announced with great fanfare, but most of them are originals or Takarazuka adaptations of movies and games. It's inevitable that people will think that Takarazuka has stopped writing originals, and I can't help but feel that this is okay.

Of course, to be honest, it's better to write something that's not original than something that's nonsensical. Once again, I miss Ogita-san, Ueda-san, and Harada-san, who have produced a series of excellent original works.

Securing talent to write is one of the issues. I also think it would be good to open up script competitions to alumni who know Takarazuka well. I think there will be a lot of good performances that are unique to Takarazuka, where underclassmen often appear.

And this year, there are a lot of good performances in the outer box. In other words, the performances at the large theater are lacking. To be precise, I feel that what is lacking is the script, and that there are many performances where the performers cover up. There are few scripts that resonate with the heart in the large theater performances, and the performances at the outer box are fulfilling. It's a matter of preference.

The performance at the large theater that was good was "1789". I was particularly moved by it, but other than that, there were many performances at the outer box that were good.

Furthermore, "MAKAZE IZM", "Bonnikura", "Death Holi", and "Excalibur" are only performed in Tokyo or Nagoya, and "Mimi" in October is also a good work, but it is only in Hakata, although you can tell just by looking at the poster. Is Takarazuka in collusion with JR? ????.

Until the end of the year, the large theater will have three consecutive performances by teachers whose style I don't like. If you include the Flower Troupe's "Oshidori Uta Gassen", it will be four consecutive performances. It doesn't have to be original, so I hope that the teachers will stop prioritizing self-satisfaction.

I prefer comedies to serious stories, but I would like to see many students utilized and have some touching, touching scenes. Takarasiennes only have a limited amount of time, so I look forward to seeing the teachers' hard work.
